How do I enable payments with PayPal?
To enable PayPal as a payment option for your customers when they’re paying online follow the steps below. It’s important to note that payments accepted through PayPal won’t appear in your Tyl Portal, they will only appear in your PayPal account.
- First you’ll need to have a PayPal account. If you don’t have a PayPal account you can create one through the following link: (https://www.paypal.com/welcome/signup). As part of this process you'll need to accept PayPal's terms and conditions.
- Next you’ll need to log in to your Virtual Terminal. In your virtual terminal proceed to the Customisation section and then ‘PayPal Setup’.
- On the PayPal Setup page you’ll be asked to fill in some details. Click the ‘edit’ button and provide your new or existing PayPal email ID in the Account Name. This has to be unique for each store. Click ‘save changes’.
- You’ll then need to grant permissions for Tyl to submit PayPal transactions on your behalf. You can select these at your discretion. If you’re unsure on what permissions, you’re granting we’ve included a description of each in the table below.
- Once permissions are granted you’ll be redirected to the PayPal portal and asked to login and confirm the permissions. If the setup is successful you’ll then be redirected back to the PayPal setup page on your virtual terminal.
- After you’ve completed your activation we advise that you test the integration using your test Tyl store id and PayPal account ahead of using your live store ID.
