Displaying card scheme and payment method logos on your website
When selling online via a website or digital storefront, such as a mobile app, merchants are required to clearly display the accepted card brands and payment methods at the point of sale.
Example

1. Using our Checkout Payment Page
By default, if you are using our Checkout payment page, this requirement is already covered for you and your business. We display the relevant card brands and payment methods on your behalf at the point of sale when one of your customers reaches the payment completion stage.
2. Using a custom or self-built payment journey
If you are using a self‑built or custom checkout payment journey, you are required to display the correct card brand and payment method logos at the point of sale for your customers. Card schemes such as Visa, Mastercard, and American Express require their logos are displayed accurately, typically in full colour and without any modification.
Where to display the relevant logos?
This branding is usually shown on checkout pages at point of sale or within website footers and helps to build customer trust and confidence during the payment process.
Logos you should display
You are only required to display logos for the card scheme brands or payment methods you offer your customers.
Below is a list of the supported brands which are typically available to you when you opt for our Online Payments Package:
- Visa
- Mastercard
- Discover
- American Express (Amex) - Optional*
- Apple Pay
- Google Pay
*If you have opted in to accept American Express (Amex)
American Express is an optional payment method that requires separate enablement. If you have chosen to accept American Express (Amex) payments, you must also ensure that the relevant American Express logo is displayed at the point of sale and that all American Express branding guidelines are followed.
Official branding assets and guidelines
General requirements
Don't alter logos
Please don’t alter logos in any way. This includes prohibited changes to colours, proportions, shapes, or removing trademark symbols (® or ™). Ensure you follow the official guidelines.
Use full colour where possible
Full-colour logos are generally required on digital interfaces. Grayscale or solid versions are permitted only if the user interface cannot support colour.
Show logos equally
Mastercard, Visa and other card brands require that their logos be displayed with parity, meaning they must be equal in size, frequency, and prominence to any other card logo presented.
Make them easy to read
Logos must be large enough to be clearly legible, with specific recommendations such as a minimum height of 5mm for digital displays.
Leave enough space
Logos must be surrounded by sufficient clear space (uncluttered by text or other graphics) to ensure legibility, often defined as a minimum of 1/4 the width of a logo element.
Placement and usage guidelines
Checkout pages
Logos should be placed near the payment form, ideally near the credit card fields to confirm accepted types.
Website footer
Logos are frequently used in the website footer as a general "trust signal," but this does not replace the requirement to show them at checkout.
Background contrast
Logos must be placed on a neutral background (usually white or light grey) that provides sufficient contrast, using reversed (white) versions of the logos on dark backgrounds.
Accepted brands only
Only display logos for cards or Payment Methods you accept to avoid misleading consumers.
